Built to post-disaster standards, the new Firehall resolved significant operational safety and structure issues. A collaborative design-build with the Client that included precast concrete wall panels to allow capacity to house modern day equipment.
This project used simple, yet interesting design elements to incorporate low-cost materials into a visually pleasing and functional space. Construction took place adjacent to an operating elementary school posing unique challenges for both safety and logistics.
Construction Manager from concept to completion, including procuring appropriate consultants and subtrades. Custom built wood framed structure that included extensive landscape improvements, energy efficient light fixtures and mechanical systems. SiP panel roof structure topped the efficient design and construction of this project.
Concept to completion! A fast-tracked project that saw MKM involved in procurement and coordination of building permits to submission, this included tendering and construction of the interior renovations to the existing Parksville Community Centre. Renovations included refinishing of existing gymnasium, converting existing rooms and offices to create childcare spaces and the creation of a new outdoor space for learning and active play.
